How to sign up for Rightstune

New here? Follow these steps from start to finish: create your account, verify your identity, then finish portal onboarding. We’ll ask whether you’re already registered with a PRO (Performing Rights Organization). If you aren’t, you can affiliate with AllTrack in one click, or we’ll help you find a PRO to join.

Step 1

Create your Rightstune account

Go to Sign Up. Enter your phone number (optional), email, and password, then accept the Terms of Service and submit.

Step 2

Verify your identity

After signup you’ll complete identity verification (usually with Stripe Identity). Have a government-issued photo ID ready. Most people finish in a few minutes.

If verification is still reviewing: you’ll see a “Verification In Progress” screen. Keep an eye on your email - we’ll notify you when you’re ready to continue. There’s also a manual verification option if automatic verification isn’t available.

Step 3

Welcome into the client portal

Once verified, sign in and you’ll land on the welcome page. Click Let’s get started to begin onboarding.

Step 4

Add your artist / writer name

Enter the name you perform or write under so our team can match your credits. When Muso search is available, you can search and select a profile instead - either way you can continue and refine this later.

Step 5

Are you registered with a PRO?

Next you’ll see: Are you registered with a PRO (Performing Rights Organization)? Choose Yes if you already have a writer PRO and an IPI / CAE number. Choose No if you don’t have one yet - or if you aren’t sure.

A PRO (BMI, ASCAP, SESAC, AllTrack, PRS, and others) collects public-performance royalties and assigns your IPI. You need one to collect worldwide. If you don’t have one, the next step lets you affiliate with AllTrack inside Rightstune.

Step 6

Yes - add your IPI

If you chose Yes, we try to match you automatically from the name on your account. If a songwriter card looks like you, select it.

Otherwise enter your IPI / CAE number, then search for and select your PRO. Submit to continue.

Step 7

No - affiliate with AllTrack?

If you chose No, we’ll ask: Would you like to affiliate with AllTrack? AllTrack is a performing rights organization like ASCAP or BMI. You can affiliate here in one click so you can collect your writer’s share.

We’ll create your AllTrack songwriter account from your verified identity. Accept the AllTrack Writer Terms of Service and continue. Approval can take a few minutes to a few days - check the email AllTrack sends you to confirm your account and set a password.

Accept the AllTrack Writer Terms, then continue.

If your identity was approved manually (no ID scan on file), we’ll show We need more information from you to continue your AllTrack affiliation and ask you to enter name, date of birth, country, and phone before you can continue.

Join a PRO in your territory

If you decline AllTrack, pick the country where your music is played most. We’ll recommend PROs for that territory. Join as a songwriter (not as a publisher) so you get an IPI number. Then come back, choose Yes on the PRO question, and enter your IPI.

Need a directory? Browse PROs by territory (reference list only - not Rightstune’s direct affiliations). Anglo-American writer PROs (including AllTrack) are the ones we can represent you through today.

Step 8

Tell us about a prior publishing admin

We’ll ask if you’ve collected publishing through another company (any major publisher, or an admin such as Songtrust, Kosign, or TuneCore Publishing).

Yes: upload a Letter of Termination / relinquishment if you have one (you can skip the upload for now, but you’ll need it before we can collect on works still registered elsewhere).
No: continue to the next step.
Skip: you can also skip this question entirely and continue.

Step 9

Choose your societies

Next you can choose which collection societies Rightstune should register your songs with. Each option shows a short description of what it covers (for example IMPEL for digital royalties in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, CIS, and the Indian subcontinent via SACEM, France’s collection society). All societies are selected by default - you can leave them as-is, turn some off, or skip to keep the defaults. You can change this later in Preferences.

Tip: if you’re unsure, choose Skip - use defaults. That opts you into every supported society.

Step 10

Add a publishing entity (optional)

We’ll ask if you have your own publisher account. People who join ASCAP often get a free publishing entity - it’s helpful for us to know. Rightstune is still your default original publisher. You can skip and add this later in Preferences.

Note: adding your own publishing entity means you’ll need to sign a Letter of Direction before registering tracks.

Step 11

Self-registered works at your PRO

We’ll ask whether you’ve already registered songs at your writer PRO, and if so, whether you plan to transfer those works to Rightstune.

Transferring lets Rightstune collect the publisher’s share (including publisher performance share) that often stays uncollected when you only register as a writer. Your writer share still pays through your PRO account.

Prefer to keep those works at your PRO? You can turn off your PRO under Preferences → Society Configuration. Rightstune will keep collecting everywhere else while you continue registering works at your PRO yourself.

Step 12

Sign your Letter of Direction (when required)

You’ll only be asked to sign a Letter of Direction (LOD) when it’s needed - for example if you added a publishing entity, uploaded a prior-admin termination letter, or plan to transfer self-registered works to Rightstune.

The LOD tells your PRO to route royalties to Rightstune when there’s a conflict on a work we claim. Your name and IPI are filled in - review and sign in the signing window.

If none of those apply: onboarding completes without an LOD, and you can register tracks right away. You can still sign an LOD later if your situation changes (for example after adding a publishing entity in Preferences).

Step 13

You’re in - next steps

After onboarding you’ll reach your dashboard. From there you can register songs, manage your catalog, and set up payouts. Our team may still match your writer profile behind the scenes - that’s normal.
