Affiliate Terms

Last Updated: August 19, 2026

1. Agreement

These Affiliate Terms ("Terms") govern the Rightstune affiliates and ambassador program (the "Program") operated by Rightstune LLC ("Rightstune," "we," or "us"). By creating an affiliates account, sharing a unique link, or otherwise participating in the Program, you ("Affiliate," "you") agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions, and Terms of Service.

If you do not agree, do not create an affiliates account and do not promote Rightstune as a partner. These Terms apply to affiliates and ambassadors. Client songwriters who join Rightstune to collect royalties are covered by the Terms of Service, not this page.

2. Eligibility

You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement. The Program is for people who refer songwriters and other rights holders to Rightstune, and who may invite other partners into a network. It is not a publishing administration agreement and does not give you any ownership of anyone's copyrights.

Rightstune may refuse, pause, or close an affiliates account at any time, including for suspected fraud, spam, self-referral, or other misuse.

3. How the Program works

There is no fee to join. After you create an account you receive two unique links that share the same referral code:

You earn commission only when attributed clients generate publishing-admin fees on collected royalties. There is no commission for the act of recruiting another partner.

4. Commission

Rightstune charges a publishing-admin fee on royalties it administers (typically 15% mechanical and 12% performance on the publisher share). Affiliates earn a share of that fee, not of the client's gross royalties. Default rates for new accounts are:

Tier When it applies Share of admin fee
Direct A client signs up through your artist link 25%
Override A partner you invited refers a client 5%
Master That partner's recruit refers a client 2.5%

Rightstune may set a different rate for a specific affiliate or referred client. Rates shown in your dashboard and, where locked at client signup, on that client's record control what you are paid. Commission is estimated from posted royalty statements and is not final until a period is marked paid.

5. Attribution

Artist links store a 90-day cookie named rt_aff. Partner invite links store a 90-day cookie named rt_aff_amb. If a later valid link is used, the newer cookie replaces the older one (last click). Attribution at signup uses the cookie or a matching ref parameter.

A client is credited to you only if your account is active (or still pending) at the time they complete signup. Paused or rejected accounts do not receive new client attribution. You cannot join under your own invite link, and invite chains that would create a loop are not allowed.

6. Payouts

Commission follows the same monthly royalty cycle as client statements. Accrued amounts appear in the affiliates dashboard by client, month, and tier. Payouts are sent to the PayPal email you save in Settings once a period is marked paid. You are responsible for providing a valid PayPal address and for any taxes on amounts you receive.

Rightstune may withhold, reverse, or claw back commission that was paid in error, that relates to refunded or clawed-back royalties, or that arose from fraud or a violation of these Terms.

8. Independent contractor

You participate as an independent contractor, not as an employee, partner, or agent of Rightstune. You may not bind Rightstune to any contract or represent that you are employed by us. Nothing in the Program transfers copyrights, neighboring rights, or administration rights to you.

9. Term and termination

These Terms remain in effect while you have an affiliates account. You may stop participating at any time by contacting us. Rightstune may suspend or terminate the Program or your account at any time. After termination, unpaid commission that was validly earned on already-posted statements may still be paid at Rightstune's discretion; you will not earn on new collections for clients attributed after termination, and paused or closed accounts do not receive new attributions.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version on this page with a new "Last Updated" date. Material changes will be posted at least thirty (30) days before they take effect when reasonably practicable. Continued participation after the effective date is acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, stop participating and contact us to close your affiliates account.
